The Secretary-General has convened high-level representatives from the private sector, government, UN/intergovernmental organizations and civil society to develop a global strategy and concrete agenda for action to reach the three objectives.

The roadmap, which builds on the work of the Secretary-General's Advisory Group on Energy and Climate Change, provides a framework for identifying high-impact opportunities to drive transformational change, a way to organize action by multiple stakeholders across all relevant sectors of the economy, and an entry point for stakeholders interested in taking action in specific areas of interest.
