ALTERNATIVE ENERGY IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES AND EMERGING ECONOMIES - 2013 AEDCEE
Following the successful first edition of the AEDCEE, the 2013 International Conference on Alternative Energy in Developing Countries and Emerging Economies, will be held on May 30-31, 2013, in Bangkok, Thailand. The objective of the Conference is to provide an international forum for the exchange of information and knowledge through invited lectures, plenary sessions and oral presentations on the topic of alternative energy in developing countries and emerging economies. The topics covered by the Conference includes technical, scientific, economic, social and policy aspects of bioenergy; hydro, wave, tidal, solar, wind energy; hydrogen; smart grids; along with energy efficiency and community-scale energy applications. The Engineering and Sustainable Development Committee of the Spanish Engineering Institute is organizing a round table to disseminate, between the engineering community and the general public, the issues related to access to energy of around one fifth of the world population, and to discuss the goal proposed by the Sustainable Energy for All initiative: universal energy access by 2030. Different actors from the university, the civil society and public organizations will share their points of view, and several initiatives and the existing barriers will be discussed during the event.
